The Country of Law party (OEK) participates in the parliamentary elections with the intention to ‘deepen socio-economic and democratic reforms.'

OEK Leader and Secretary of the National Security Service Arthur Baghdasaryan today said ‘he is proud of his party's political course and hopes that his party will garner more votes during the upcoming vote.'

"It is time to collect the stones thrown during the past four years and to throw them in another direction," Mr. Baghdasaryan said without elaborating.

The OEK leader said that his party was blamed for not supporting Levon Ter-Petrosyan during the 2008 presidential elections.

"And why should we side with Ter-Petrosyan who used to smear us during the whole campaign, who called me a traitor?" he said.

Asked whether he joined with Serzh Sargsyan to be granted a high-ranking position, Mr Baghdasaryan said, "I had a position then, didn't I?"

The OEK leader refrained from speaking about the March 2008 post-election clashes and advised talking ‘on more pleasant themes.'

The OEK will convene a congress on March 3 to present the format of its participation in the parliamentary elections.

"We are sure of our victory and we are not going to make l pompous statements. We shall suffice with the real public support," Arthur Baghdasaryan said.
