"To sacrifice" editor ahead of elections?
The Russian presidential elections are only three weeks away, but GazProm, which belongs to Ekho Moskvi Radio, has demanded the resignation of the company's board of directors, declared the radio's editor-in-chief Alexey Venedictov.
The editor-in-chief added that he and his first deputy head, Vladimir Vorfolomeyev are leaving the board of directors. At the same time, the radio company's director general Yuri Fedutinov has received an offer to join the board of directors. "I will join the board of directors," Fedutinov told "Novosti" agency.
"This is a real celebration. I included Fedutinov, let him suffer," this is how Venedictov commented on the situation in the text of the message sent to Vorfolomeyev.
However, Venedictov told "Interfax" that Gazprom hadn't raised the issue of changing the editor-in-chief and mentioned that he would be the radio's editor-in-chief until the next elections.
