New draft resolution on Syria
Saudi Arabia has disseminated a new draft resolution on Syria among members of the UN General Assembly. The resolution proposes the end of violence and the President's resignation.
According to the BBC, the text of the resolution is very similar to the draft resolution which was put up for a vote at the UN General Assembly last week and was rejected due to Russia's and China's veto.
Bloody clashes continue in Syria. Lawyers say more than 7,000 people have been killed within the past 11 months since the start of the anti-government protests in the country.
