Prosperous Armenia has no explanation for EPP decision
"I have no explanation to this. Obviously, the European People's Party (EPP) has made a political decision which did not focus on party's democratic values or its compliance with European standards," member of the Prosperous Armenian Party Naira Zohrabyan said when replying a question concerning the membership of Armenia's ruling Republican Party, Country of Law (Orinats Yerkir) and Heritage to the EPP.
Earlier, the Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia, Orinats Yerkir and Heritage claimed a bid for EPP membership in 2011. The EPP did not consider the bid of the Prosperous Armenia while approved the bids of the other three parties.
The European People's Party is the largest joint European party. It includes 72 parties from 26 EU countries and 13 countries which are not part of the European Union.
