Safaryan views it as obscene
During the hour of announcements at the National Assembly, member of the "Heritage" Party Stepan Safaryan touched upon Turkish Minister for Relations with the European Union Egemen Bagis's cynical statements on the French Senate's adoption of the bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial.
"Turkey's overtly obscene behavior toward the tragedy of the Armenians and the greatest crime that it has committed, on the threshold of April 24, would be suffice for any normal government to not give in to the slap from Turkey. But the Chairman of the National Assembly continues to believe that it is right to keep the Protocols on the agenda.
I must say whatever the Armenian government is doing is ascribing other countries' recognition of the Armenian Genocide to them, but unfortunately, it refuses to do what it has to do. That not only refers to national interests, but also citizens' rights. They will continue to be unprotected as long as the government is illegitimate and anti-national," declared Stepan Safaryan.
