Suren Sirunyan leaves ANC
Ex-political prisoner Suren Sirunyan, who was sentenced to prison for the "Case of the Seven", officially appealed to the European Court of Human Rights with the request to take back his appeal yesterday. "I am taking the appeal back due to the change of my political orientation," the ex-political prisoner declared today and assured that nobody had pressured him.
"The Armenian National Congress started a movement in 2007, but now it has stepped back, and this is how I am expressing my protest. I can't declare a hunger strike or a sitting strike," said Sirunyan.
Sirunyan informed that "more than a dozen" peopel would be leaving the Congress in two days. Sirunyan declared that many ANC members have turned into an instrument for Levon Ter-Petrosyan "because we weren't able to serve as an instrument for him, like he said, we turned into one". The ex-political prisoner assured that he wasn't preparing to become a Free Democrat. "I am free anyway," said Sirunyan.
