Member of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Zoya Tadevosyan thinks political forces can solve the problem of power change through elections.

"We must unite citizens and solve the issue in the political arena," she said.

Zoya Tadevosyan disagrees with Sardarapat movement member Jirayr Sefilyan who refrains from participating in the elections.

"The political domain is fully controlled by the authorities, and it is no use seeking solutions in that field," she said.

"If the Constitution envisages that we can change power only through elections, then we are going to participate in them," she stressed.

The ANC member says the authorities are capable of applying to cruel methods and are ready to suppress any outbreak.

Asked what the ANC will do if the elections are rigged and people take to the streets once again, Mrs. Tadevosyan said, "If need be, we shall take drastic measures."
