Boyer intends to fight to the end
Valérie Boyer, a member of the National Assembly of France and the author of the bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide, has responded on her Facebook page to the French Senators' initiative to appeal the genocide bill at the Constitutional Council.
"I respect the right of the senators, but imagine the pain of the descendants of the genocide victims whom they gave another blow by the appeal. The pressure of a foreign country should not have served as a reason not to protect universal human principles, human rights and dignity of France," said Valérie Boyer.
"I have spoken with experts on constitutional law; they believe that the law is consistent with the Constitution. I still believe that the rights of the descendants of the genocide victims must be protected inside France.
Infringement of rights and discrimination is inadmissible, and I am going to fight against it," the French parliamentarian wrote on her Facebook page
