Sharmazanov: “Elections are a game”
Leader of the "Country of Law" Party (OEK) Artur Baghdasaryan today declared that his party won't have any problem with crossing the passing threshold in the upcoming elections for the National Assembly.
Baghdasaryan and press speaker of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov today touched upon Serzh Sargsyan's meeting with the leaders of the coalition forces last evening and the topic related to the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Baghdasaryan says he is content with the meeting and believes "the political coalition has to try to specify its positions and go to the elections with positions that are as concerted as possible, especially since the three political parties have decided to go alone."
The "Country of Law" Party is planning to nominate its candidates through the majoritarian electoral order, but according to Baghdasaryan, there was no agreement reached during the coalition's meeting.
"There were more serious discussions. The rest are technical issues," said the OEK leader.
Speaker of the Republican Party of Armenia, Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov declared that the closer the parliamentary elections get, the more often the coalition partners will meet.
"In general, elections are a game in which there are two hands. One hand doesn't applaud. The one hand is the authorities, the other is the opposition," said NA Vice-Chairman Eduard Sharmazanov.
As for the proportional lists and electoral struggle, Sharmazanov mentioned that all issues would be clarified during the 13th Congress of the Republican Party of Armenia on March 17.
