After 160 actions in six primary directions, Armenia will meet the requirements set by the European Union. However, the Police of Armenia have already met those requirements and have implemented 192 of the 200 actions in 11 directions. This is what RA Deputy Police Chief Artur Osikyan announced today.

"I am pleased to mention that the EU Advisory Group has conducted a survey, and based on the results, the opinions have been taken into account to a large extent," said Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traya Hristea.

Hristea also mentioned that the European Union would take into account the level of conduct of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia for cooperation with Armenia.

"The free and fair elections that your government has pledged will be very important for further development of our relations. In this context, we are developing a new program with the Armenian authorities," said the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

During today's discussion, Armenian and European delegates presented the plan of actions in each sphere and touched upon people's free mobility and the facilitation of the European Union's entrance visas.

The EU representatives recalled that the joint declaration on persons' free mobility was signed on 27 October 2011 and that in this context, the launch of negotiations over the facilitation of visas would start soon.

The Europeans said they had noticed several flaws in the new Armenia-EU plan of actions.

"This document is missing several proposals for democracy and human rights. We also find that the security of travel documents should include not only the issuing of biometric passports, but should also ensure the centralization and digitization of persons' data," noted Head of the EU Advisory Group to Armenia Anti Hartikayne.
