Ghukasyan wants to purchase Tumanyan’s home
Mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan is ready to pay any amount to purchase Hovhannes Tumanyan's home in Tbilisi .
In an interview with "A1+", Vardan Ghukasyan said he had made his decision when he heard that President of the Writers' Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan left for Tbilisi to solve the issues related to Hovhannes Tumanyan's home. The mayor of Gyumri called Ananyan and expressed willingness to support him in solving the issue.
"It is every Armenian's duty to treat that home as their parents' home. It is our holy duty. I told the president of the writers' union that we, the Ghukasyan brothers were ready to give a positive solution to that issue and spend money from our family budget. I even sent a letter to Ananyan, telling him that we are committed to solving the issue at hand. I am waiting for his reply," said the mayor of Gyumri.
When asked how much the sum would be, Vardan Ghukasyan said he trusted the President of the Writers' Union .
"They'll negotiate, and we'll be ready to do whatever they tell us to do," the mayor promised.
