“Heritage” clarifies
Press speaker of "Heritage" Party Hovsep Khurshudyan has issued a statement:
"During a press conference today, secretary of "Heritage" Party's board Karine Hakobyan expressed some views, which don't completely fall in line with the party's official position. Hakobyan called into question the appropriateness of the Central Electoral Commission accepting the application of the Prosperous Armenia Party to participate in the elections.
"Heritage" believes the Central Electoral Commission should accept all political parties' applications in accordance with the line of the law and ensure free and legitimate competition. In that sense, we don't believe any political within the limits of the law should have a problem with receiving registration from the CEC to participate in the elections.
We also highly appreciate the position of all the political parties that have joined the joint initiative of "Heritage" Party and the ARF-D for making amendments in the RA Electoral Code to reject the majoritarian electoral system."
