Sarkozy sends letter to Turkish Premier
France's President Nicolas Sarkozy has addressed a letter to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in which the French leader urged the Turkish official to subordinate punitive actions to general interests, Sabah newspaper writes.
Erdoğan announced Turkey's intention to punish France on January 23 when France adopted the bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.
"The adoption of the bill penalizing the Armenian Genocide denial is not directed against any country," the French President said in his letter.
