Azerbaijani crosses border
Message of the State Commission of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on the Issues of Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons
On January 23 at 15:25, on-duty soldiers of the NKR Defense Army detained citizen of Azerbaijan while he was passing to the Karabakhi side in the north-eastern sector of the line of contact. The detained was dressed in the uniform of a soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces without any badges. He had a military registration booklet with the name Akhundzade Mamedbagru Tayib-oglu, resident of the Lenkoran region of the Republic of Azerbaijan, junior sergeant born in 1990.
The corresponding structures of the NKR are clearing up the circumstances of the incident.
The NKR authorities have informed the offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the OSCE accredited to Stepanakert about the incident.
