Great Britain marks January 24 as the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the genocide that took place during WWII.

Great Britain lost more than 300,000 soldiers and 60,000 peaceful citizens during the war.

Every year on January 24, British citizens pay tribute to the victims and lay flowers and wreaths at the tombs of those who were killed during the years of WWII. On that day, citizens of several cities hold rallies and demonstrations and demand that the incumbent government not allow such a horrible thing to happen again.

The Kazaks of Russia also mark January 24th.

In 1919, the political elite of Soviet Russia secretly decided "to cleanse the Kazaks, annihilate them and wipe the culture and domestics of those poverty-stricken people off the face of the Earth through extreme methods".

The hundreds of thousands of tombs of Kazaks spread across Russia are the silent testimonies of the horrible events that took place during those years. The Kazaks never forget what happened and remember the victims by visiting their tombs on January 24.
