A. Davutoglu: “Doubtful decision”
"We strictly condemn this decision, which is doubtful in all regards and sets an example of irresponsibility," said the Turkish Foreign Minister in response to the French Senate's decision last night.
"Turkey will take all necessary measures to fight against the French Senate's decision," said Ahmed Davutoglu, adding that Turkey would express its position on this issue at all instances.
With 127 "for" and 86 "against", the French Senate last evening passed the bill criminalizing denial of genocides, which envisages a year of imprisonment and a 45,000 Euro fine.
The bill will enter into force after the President's ratification.
