Communists: To join or not to join?
The Communists of Armenia say the upcoming parliamentary elections will be fatal for them.
"We will make it to the National Assembly with a brilliant victory and at least 17-18 percent of votes," First Secretary of the Communist Party of Armenia Ruben Tovmasyan told "A1+" today.
The only thing concerning the Armenian Communists for ensuring a brilliant victory is procuring 8 million drams for the election campaign.
"There are no businessmen, large owners and people who can help us," added Comrade Tovmasyan.
What does the major Communist have to say about the 100 percent proportional list?
"If the elections were held through the proportional list today, it would be better," said Tovmasyan.
At the same time, Comrade Tovmasyan is certain that if the authorities have decided to falsify the elections, it doesn't matter if it will be through the proportional or majoritarian order.
The Communist Party of Armenia wishes to participate through an alliance, but doesn't see real supporters in Armenia. At the moment, the party has only received an offer for collaboration from the Progressive Communist Party.
"All we have to do is solve one or two problems, and after that, it is very likely for us to join that party in the parliamentary elections," said Comrade Tovmasyan.
Leader of the United Progressive Communist Party Vazgen Safaryan told "A1+" that the party would like to have a bigger representation in the National Assembly and that it is working on that.
Unlike Tovmasyan, Vazgen Safaryan sees the collaboration between forces with a direction toward the society. Safaryan said the party was holding talks with those forces, but didn't mention any names.
