Minister: “Skull will be placed in wall”
It doesn't matter whether the collapse of the St. Nshan Armenian Church in Tbilisi was intentional or not. Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan is certain that Armenia will be able to come to terms with Georgia.
In addition to the fate of the St. Nshan Church, the fate of the home of great Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan also remains undetermined. The owner of a part of the home, who is a Georgian businessman, is getting ready to sell that part to the Georgian-Turkish Jeo Turan Company. According to initial data, the home will serve as a hostel for Turk students. To prevent the sale, a delegation led by the President of the Union of Writers of Armenia will leave for Tbilisi today.
These days, the Ministry of Culture is trying to meet the objective of transferring the skull of poet Petros Duryan which was separated from the body in 1959. The Ministry of Culture is preparing to place the skull of Duryan in a wall.
Mrs. Poghosyan says the rumors that Duryan's skull will be placed in a wall due to the lack of room at the Komitas Pantheon are false.
