What do Armenian students think about revolutions? The Republican Party of Armenia has declared a contest with the topic "Preconditions for Revolutions in the Islamic World", and 7 authors received their certificates and financial awards today.

"The topic of revolution is more current, and the students demanded to implement such a program," deputy of the youth wing of the Republican Party of Armenia Karen Avagyan told "A1+".

He mentioned that the Republicans think students have revealed all the preconditions that led to revolutions in several countries last year. At the same time, Deputy Avagyan mentioned that the Republican Party prefers the evolutionary development of the state, and the chosen topic has nothing to do with the reality in Armenia.

First prize winner David Sargsyan was in Cairo during the days of the revolution in Egypt and personally followed up on the "Arab Spring". He says each pre-revolutionary situation was different in every Arab country. Nevertheless, he says there are several reasons for the start of a revolution in any country.

"When the authorities believe they will keep power forever, they become cut off from reality, indifferent and some even become slaves to their own regime. In other words, there are leaders that wish to leave, but simply can't due to sins and errors that they have committed in the past," the prize winner said.
