“Died from chickenpox, not indifference”
Military expert Artsrun Hovhannisyan says nobody should touch upon the circumstances behind the death of temporary soldier Hayk Khachatryan, who died from chickenpox. According to him, they should be content with the clarifications given by the Ministry of Defense and not "make a big deal" about the issue.
Head of the Department of Military Medicine of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel Artashes Parsadanyan said the soldier died from chickenpox and not the indifference, as the soldier's parents said.
The military expert assures that the number of deaths in the army has decreased, but the media's coverage is so "in-depth" that it seems as though the number has increased.
"We saw so much coverage of all the incidents in 2011, and not just coverage showing the facts, but in-depth coverage, that we get the impression that there are more and more cases," Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
The military expert says the chickenpox case has nothing to do with the doctors' indifference since he has personally seen the high level of the doctors' service in the army.
Even if the parents receive conclusions from the world's experts, they will always have the occasion to suspect, to be afraid and to lack trust since they have lost their children," Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.
