Russia has responded to the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) which said in its final report that the December 4 parliamentary elections in Russia were unfair.

Russian government's response to the OSCE/ODIHR report was predictable; they said it was politically motivated, Russian newspaper Kommersant writes.

The report also gave a critical assessment to Russia's ruling party saying the latter used the electoral process for its interests. This naturally angered the administration of the United Russia Party which said on its website that the OSCE/ODIHR aims to disorganize political forces in Russia and declare the elections illegitimate.

Sergei Markov, a member of the Public Chamber of Russia, said that OSCE/ODIHR reports are ‘traditionally unfair'

"I know this structure well enough to say that it is involved in falsifying the results of  observations. The group closely cooperates with the United States in favour of the "United States of Europe," said Markov.
