Margar Ohanyan pleads not guilty
The General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan's Kentron and Nork Marash districts today adjourned the trial of ex-chief of Armenia's traffic police Margar Ohanyan since the victim's legal representative Jirayr Karapetyan did not show up in the court.
Margar Ohanyan is accused abusing his authority, and embezzling a large quantity of petrol, causing the state a damage of 160 million drams (approx. US$ 420,000). During today's court session pleaded not guilty.
The other two defendants Head of the Economic Department Ara Levonyan, technician Samvel Makhmuryan pleaded guilty, while ex-commander Stepan Karakhanyan refused to answer the questions.
The next sitting is set for January 13.
