Blogger Alexey Navalny has demanded that the authorities return power to the people since the Constitution of the Russian Federation establishes that power belongs to the people.

During the rally held in Moscow with the slogan "Russia Will Be Free", Navalny declared:

"The activists gathered here are peaceful and are not preparing to seize power by force. However, the incumbent authorities shouldn't disparage the people and should return power to the people peacefully and legitimately. Since that hasn't happened, the people will continue to come out to the streets. Next time we will bring millions of people out to the streets of Moscow," Navalny promised.

Lenta.ru reports that Navalny, as well as other speakers at the rally, demanded the release of the political prisoners.

On behalf of "those sitting in the social reception hall", he welcomed the "banderlogs and network beavers". Navalny was sentenced to 15 days in prison during the rally held at "Chistie Prudi" on December 5.

Among speakers at today's rally were political figure Boris Nemtsov, world renowned chess player Gary Kasparov, journalist Leonid Parfyonov, writer Boris Akunin, star Ksenia Sobchak and others.
