The Armenian government still doesn't picture the fate of Nairit Factory in the next couple of years.

"We have invited the corresponding experts to select the investments that should be made in order to make Nairit's products competitive for the next 20 to 30 years," Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan said during today's press conference.

The Armenian government would like to ask for a loan from EurAzEs Foundation to get the factory back on its feet. Nairit Factory has not been in production for a year and a half, and the workers haven't received their salaries for the past four months.

"They will get their salaries the day after tomorrow. I don't know how much they will get, but it is clear that they will get at least their one-month salaries," the minister mentioned in response to "A1+"'s question regarding the workers' salaries.

The Minister of Energy today also touched upon the exploitation of the new energy block of the nuclear power plant in Metsamor.

"The old block won't be used anymore when the new block starts functioning. As far as the start of construction is concerned, that will be approximately in mid-2013," the minister said.

We add that Armenia produced 7.4 billion kw/hour of energy, which is 14.5 percent more than last year's indicator. 5.8 billion kw energy in the domestic market, which is 10 percent more than that in 2010.
