What did Bernard Fassier say in Paris?
"The main drawback of the OSCE Minsk Group is that it failed to involve Nagorno Karabakh in the talks over its future status," OSCE Minsk Group French Co-Chair Bernard Fassier said in Yerevan on Wednesday.
The French Co-Chair said he was speaking in Russian to avoid distorted translation of his words. As an example, he cited an inaccurate translation from an Azerbaijani media outlet in which he allegedly said in Paris earlier in December that ‘he understands Azerbaijan's pian and what occupation means in fact."
"In my speech I cited President Sarkozy's words that one does not choose his neighbours," the French Co-Chair said adding that the Karabakh cannot be solved by war.
Bernard Fassier is completing his mission as the OSCE Co-Chair. In 2012, he will be replaced by newly-appointed French Co-chair Jacques Faure.
