Brazilian City recognizes Armenian Genocide
The authorities of the Brazilian city of Campinas have ratified a resolution recognizing the 1915 Genocide of Armenians, Armenian Embassy in Brazil reports.
The resolution was adopted by the City Council on November 20. According to the document, April 24 will be marked annually as Day of Commemoration of Armenian Genocide victims.
With a population of 1.2 million, the city of Campinas is a major industrial, agricultural and cultural center in San Paolo district.
