Armenian teens’ business plans
Schoolchildren of nearly all provinces of Armenia presented their business plans for helping families and communities on the sidelines of a children's and youth business forum held today. The forum was organized by Heifer in Armenia.
The 16-year old schoolchildren of the secondary school in Jajur of Shirak province have decided to get involved in poultry and pastry production. They have been provided with 40,000 drams, which they will use to invest in their business and will transfer 40,000 from the profits to other schoolchildren.
"I am involved in producing pastry because I do it very well. I will start selling the pastry to my friends and then I will export it to the market," Varinka Sargsyan told "A1+".
"I will be involved in poultry production to help my community. I came up with this idea after studying the market and getting acquainted with the marketing strategy," 11th grade student the secondary school in Jajur Mary Margaryan said.
Resident of Saramej city of Lori province, 15-year old Shushan Khachatryan has decided to cultivate beans. After studying the local and international markets, she realized that it could be effective.
"Even though there is an abundance of that crop in the market, it is sold very quickly," Shushan said.
All children participating in the business forum had the chance to enhance their knowledge for the future. Most of them said they wanted to become businesspeople.
