Survey: Ralph Yirikian is a hero
Based on the results of a survey conducted by the Center for Social-Political Studies, citizens of Yerevan have considered social justice more important than the Artsakh conflict and international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
More than half of the citizens (51%) considered radical changes in the political course as a solution to the issue. The random survey was conducted with 630 participants.
46% of citizens say the government is working more efficiently in the sphere of agriculture, while 37% say the government is not working efficiently in the sphere of law-enforcement.
The surveyed also answered the question regarding the vector of Armenia's foreign policy with Russia (52%), Europe (36.5%) and the United States (11.5%).
A group of questions was related to the political parties' activities in the social realm, and the leader was the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) with 26%.
22.5% of citizens said the ARF-D's activities in matters concerning Armenia's foreign policy were efficient.
87% of the participants of the survey conducted ahead of the parliamentary elections say the existing National Assembly doesn't reflect citizens' interests.
If elections were held this week, the participants of this survey would vote in the following way:
1. Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) 24%
2. Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) 21.5%
3. "Country of Law" Party (CLP) 17%
4. Armenian National Congress (ANC) 13.5%
5. ARF-D 9.5%
6. "Heritage" Party 6.5%
Other 8%
The participants were also asked about political figures, and the following are the results:
1. Artur Baghdasaryan 28%
2. Robert Kocharyan 23%
3. Vahan Hovhannisyan 17.5%
4. Harutyun Kushkyan 12%
5. Levon Zurabyan 7%
6. Other 12.5%
In the "category" called heroic Armenians, none of today's political figures was included.
1. Vazgen Sargsyan 22%
2. Nzhdeh 20%
3. Andranik Ozanyan 18%
4. Monte Melkonian 15%
5. Ralph Yiriikian 11.5%
6. Andranik Margaryan 9.5%
7. Drastamat Kanayan 2%
8. Vardan Mamikonyan 1%
9. Aram Manukyan 9.5%
10. Vano Siradeghyan 0.5%
We add that the survey was conducted with the principle of 4 + 1 (there will be 4 surveyes in November, January, March and April).
Based on that principle, public opinion is studied when the political forces enter the pre-electoral stage, during the campaign and ends with an exit stage.
