The Christian Democratic Union will decide on its participation at the next parliamentary elections after it decides the issue of its ally.

It is still unclear what behavior the key actors might adopt," the leader of the party, Khosrov Harutyunyan, told journalists on Friday.

To participate in the elections the party needs money.
"Our party cannot afford to pay all the money connected with elections," said Harutyunyan.

The Christian Democratic Union will likely join the Republican Party of Armenia in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Unlike the other coalition forces, Harutyunyan is pleased with the premier's activity and suggests reducing losses rather than hailing thee economic progress.

"In the period of crisis we need not assess the government's activity by its achievements, but by its ability to avoid losses," said the ex-premier.

Asked whether he would agree to become the country's prime minister if he were offered the position anew, Khosrov Harutyunyan said, "I shall contemplate over the decision but I shall not hurry with the reply."
