“A struggle between good and evil in Armenia”
"All allegations against me are groundless," President of Naregatsi Art Institute, Director of GH Storing Enterprises Nareg Hartunian announced during a press conference today.
"This was being done to fill some people's pockets," Nareg Hartunian said.
The State Revenue Committee claims that the Hartunian family's mainly charitable GH Storing Enterprises owes the government 110 million drams. The company's lawyer underlined that if there was a debt, the main part of it was accumulated during the term of the company's former director Sevak Arzaruni, and that Nareg Hartunian was arrested on the grounds of Arzaruni's testimonies.
"Sevak Arzaruni was apparently not alone. He had patrons and officials involved in shady economy," Hartunian informed.
Nareg Hartunian assures that he is willing to fulfill any legitimate tax demand and is simply offended by police officers' behavior.
"There was not one reason for them to drag me to jail on the fortieth day after my father passed away," Nareg Hartunian said.
Hartunian says he isn't planning on leaving the homeland that he has rediscovered and calls on reaching justice in the country through pressure from the society.
"This is not just against me. It is a struggle between good and evil," Hartunian said in closing.
