"Who beats, who is sentenced?" says citizen of Stepanavan Ashot Harutyunyan who has been beaten, but is now the culprit. Harutyunyan is charged with hooliganism.

By a twist of fate, on 8 November 2010, Harutyunyan and the judge of Stepanavan from the court of general jurisdiction of Lori province Arman Tovmasyan entered a store together. Either intentionally or by chance, the seller served Ashot Harutyunyan first, not the judge. This "mishap" of the seller became fatal for the "average citizen".

Offended, the judge first got into a dispute with the "average citizen" Harutyunyan and instructed the latter to follow him.

"He told me to drive after him to have a talk. I drove, and we reached the court building," Ashot Harutyunyan told journalists during a press conference today.

When he had refused to enter the court building, the judge called four bailiffs.

"The four bailiffs started beating me," Harutyunyan said.

Even though there were numerous injuries on Harutyunyan's body, he is charged with committing a hooligan act against the judge.

The case is being examined by the court of general jurisdiction of Lori province. Ashot Harutyunyan's attorney Tigran Hayrapetyan today declared that the court had been presented with numerous facts proving his client's innocence and the assault against him, but he said he was certain that those facts wouldn't have an impact on the outcome and expects the society's support for justice to be served.
