“It is good that we did not hold snap elections”
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun today confessed that it has great expectations from the dialogue between the coalition government and Armenian National Congress (HAK).
"For some reason or other, the dialogue was suspended," ARF-D MP Ruzan Arakelyan said while summing up the year.
A representative of the Republican Party of Armenia could not say the reasons for the suspension either while the Country of Law (OYK) did not want to comment on the theme.
"The sides were to hold consultations and discussions," said Spokesperson for the Heritage Party Hovsep Khurshudyan.
The only person who tried to understand the real reasons behind the dialogue was the leader of People's Party Tigran Karapetyan.
"The sides tried to reach agreements before the parliamentary elections," he said.
Mr. Karapetyan believes that before starting the dialogue Levon Ter-Petrosyan's teammates were to realize a most important thing: ‘one cannot be radical, constructive and negotiating at the same time.'
The OYK is glad that the opposition's main demand, conduct of snap elections, did not become a reality.
"There are no political or legal prerequisites for snap elections," OYK MP Hovhannes Margaryan said.
"It was a negotiation, rather than a dialogue, therefore it failed," stressed political scientist Garik Keryan.
