To return captives
The RA Commission in Captives, Hostages and the Missing today held its final session of the year at the RA Ministry of Defense. The session was headed by chairperson of the Commission, Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan. During the session, the Commission discussed the activities implemented in 2011 and the working plan for 2012.
Stating that the Commission is working slowly, but has registered some progress in 2011, the participants of the session registered that among the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan, Artur Badalyan has returned to Armenia, and the Azerbaijani side has sent three more Armenian military prisoners to a third country. In 2011, Armenia returned a military captive to Azerbaijan and another one to a third country.
In his closing speech, RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan mentioned that the Commission would deepen its cooperation with international organizations in 2012 in order to ensure the return of the other Armenian captives in Azerbaijan.
At the end of the session, several members of the Commission were awarded certificates and the ministry's medals by the decree of the Minister of Defense.
