New rally “For Fair Elections”
The opposition in Moscow is getting ready to bring people out to the streets again with the demand of declaring the results of the Russian State Duma elections invalid.
The rally organizers will hold an open session at the "Bolshoy Gorod" magazine's editorial office on December 24. The session will be broadcast live on the magazine's website via Geniroom.com.
"Bolshoy Gorod" has already posted an announcement about the session and has called it "Organizing Rally Live".
Among the rally organizers who will hold a live session will be press secretary of the "Left Front" Anastasia Ultseva, member of the "Solidarity" Movement Nadezhda Mityushkina and well-known journalist, politologist, editor of "Vokrug Soeta" magazine Sergey Parkhomenko.
Joining them will be oppositionist political figures Boris Nemtsov and Vladimir Rizhkov, deputy of "Fair Russia" Genadi Gudkov, member of the "Left Front" Esser Ilya Ponomaryov, journalist Leonid Parfyonov and writer Boris Akunin.
Interaction with citizens during the discussion will help determine the venue for holding the rally, even though the organizers have mentioned three sites ("Vasilevsky Spusk", "Manezhni" Square and Sakharov Avenue) when presenting the appeal to Moscow Municipality.
