“Main objective is right way of participating”

Politics

The "Free Democrats" Party will not only participate in the 2012 parliamentary elections, but will also be much more active. This is what leader of the party Khachatur Kokobelyan told "A1+", adding that the party would be working on bringing together all liberal political forces to participate together.

Are there forces that have already expressed the desire to collaboration? In response, Kokobelyan said: "There are already such processes, but that is not the main objective. The main objective is the right way of participating."

As far as the perspective of holding free and transparent elections is concerned, Kokobelyan mentioned that there have been elections not too long ago and everyone has seen that "citizens' interests are not protected, and that is the number one function of the government and the judicial system."

"Justice in Armenia is more unjust than the judicial system," Kokobelyan revealed.

As a political figure, Khachatur Kokobelyan "doesn't believe rights are fully protected in Armenia."

"There is a moment of the violation of rights for all political forces, and that is the lack of free competition. Most political forces don't have the opportunity to express their views through the media," he informed.

From the angle of violations of human rights, Khachatur Kokobelyan says the biggest problem is the imperfection of the judicial system. According to him, the solution to this issue "will lead to numerous reforms in other spheres".
