The action called "Free Citizens for Free Citizens" organized near the Russian Embassy in Armenia drew to an end.

For nearly an hour, the demonstrators held a silent action near the embassy.

The action participants demanded the immediate release of Russian opposition leaders and public figues, the permission for holding peaceful protests and marches, as well as an end to the illegitimate policy against freedom of speech.

Organizer of the group "Free Citizens for Free Citizens" Arayik Harutyunyan told "A1+" that he had wished to see citizens of Armenia raise their voices against the illegal acts that are taking place in Russia after the parliamentary elections.

"Hundreds of Russians have been arrested, including opposition figures and bloggers. Through this action, we are trying to make the Russian Embassy in Armenia hear our voices. The "For Legitimacy" Movement in Russia is holding the most powerful action in central Moscow, and the Moscow authorities have allowed it. However, the Armenian authorities aren't allowing 20-30 people to approach the embassy building," Arayik Harutyunyan said.

As a sign of solidarity for the "For Legitimacy" Movement in Moscow, the participants of the peaceful action had tied white ribbons, which are considered the symbol of that movement.
