Jirayr Sefilyan going to overthrow the regime
Sardarapat Movement initiative group will not participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, member of the group's founding committee Jirayr Sefilyan told a news conference on December 7.
He is confident that the forthcoming parliamentary elections will be rigged.
"Our country is occupied by a group of people, and to expect elections in an occupied regime is unacceptable," he said.
Jirayr Sefilyan also dwelt on the disagreement between the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) saying the disagreement is imitated.
"The BHK is opposed to the HHK. Unfortunately, we witness this farce - theatrical performance - from election to election. In fact, the disagreement is false and everything is decided beforehand by the upper echelons," he said.
Sefilyan states that the primary goal of the acting regime is to guarantee its reproduction. Asked how there are going to prevent that reproduction, the Sardarapat movement member said, "We are going to topple the authorities by binding them people's will."
Asked how the Sunday parliamentary elections in Russia affected Armenia's political domain, Mr. Sefilyan advised following post-election developments in Russia to understand that one cannot achieve any results through rigged elections.
Jirayr Sefilyan believes that early elections cannot result in the change of power.
