Joint statement adopted in Vilnius

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian is attending the 18th session of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe which kicked off in Vilnius on December 6.

The event has brought together 56 foreign ministers of the OSCE member states and about two dozen high-ranking officials from international organizations.

On the first day of the session heads of the OSCE Minsk Group's Co-Chair countries, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, French Minister for European Affairs Jean Leonetti, as well as the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mamedyarov, issued a joint statement reconfirming the importance of achieving a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

On the same day, Edward Nalbandian participated in the informal meeting of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO member countries which clarified the issues to be involved in the agenda of the 18th session of the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
