Nikoyan was elected through small fraud
Newly elected chairman of the National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan today ratified his first decision on convening an extraordinary session at 18:30 and put the issue of electing the NA vice-chairman on the agenda.
At that hour, head of the headquarters of the Republican Party of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan will meet with the Republican heads of provinces and the mayor of Yerevan to discuss the organizing of the elections.
During the chairman's election, "Heritage" MP Anahit Bakhshyan discovered fraud when she noticed Hovik Abrahamyan's name on the list of deputies registered at the National Assembly.
"Who registered instead of Hovik Abrahamyan," Bakhshyan asked. Gagik Melikyan rushed to announce that they had declared him absent.
While they would clarify that, Mrs. Bakhshyan saw who she was looking for. "You didn't show up, but somebody registered for you," Bakhshyan declared. "Who registered? I have registered," Hovik Abrahamyan said as he pretended to be innocent, leaving Anahit Bakhshyan suspicious.
The former NA speaker didn't clarify which candidate he had voted for and only talked about his party's candidate, Samvel Nikoyan, saying "Nikoyan does what he promises to do".
