“Artsakh’s independence is not up for bargain”

President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited the Argentinean Council of International Relations (CARI) in Buenos Aires and delivered a lecture.

President Sahakyan mentioned that Latin America is of special interest for the NKR's foreign policy, which is conditioned by the presence of large Armenian communities and those communities' strong bonds with the historical homeland, as well as the continuous increase in the role of those countries in geopolitics.

Bako Sahakyan underlined that in this context, the development of relations with Argentina is of special significance and that Artsakh accepts Argentina as a friendly and fraternal country.

Touching upon the resolution of the Azerbaijani-Karabakhi conflict, Bako Sahakyan underlined that the official Stepanakert is in favor of solving all problems with Azerbaijan through peace and direct dialogue. The President stressed that Artsakh's independence and security are special values for the people and are not subject to bargain. The President consnidered Azerbaijan's destructive position, as well as the Azerbaijanis' extreme and belligerent, anti-Armenian policy the greatest obstacle for the negotiations process.
