Certain political forces in Armenia have been trapped in the psychological game of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), vice-chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Razmik Zohrabyan told journalists on Dec 2.

However, he says there are some differences between the two coalitional forces - Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK).

"The HAK is attempting to cause psychological dissection, but they will not succeed since the BHK masters all those political technologies applied by the HAK," he said.
The RPA vice-chairman is convinced that the HHK and BHK will remain coalition partners despite all efforts to separate them.

Razmik Zohrabyan condemns the attempts of linking the recent arrests of BHK members with political processes.
"I do not see any political pretext. The arrested people are affiliated with the BHK. In the same way, they could be members of the HHK or some other party," he said.
Asked why the HHK does not punish its members who publicly insult their colleagues in parliament or beat a woman, the HHK vice-chairman said, "Similar exotic cases are fewer in Armenia than in other countries of the world."

Yesterday the HHK's executive body named the party's candidates for parliament speaker, vice-speaker and secretary. Acting speaker of the Armenian parliament Samvel Nikoyan was proposed to stay in the post until the end of the legislature's term next May. HHK Spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov was proposed as party's vice-speaker and Gagik Melikyan was appointed HHK secretary. It was decided that Eduard Sharmazanov will continue to hold the post of the party's spokesman.

With respect to the HHK's decision, Razmik Zohrabyan said, "Samvel Nikoyan is a mature statesman and one of those who struggled for independence. He struggled in the old guard. As for Eduard Sharmazanov, I must say that he has so many virtues that he can claim to the position of parliament speaker."
