Municipality responds to hunger strike
Statement of the Department of Information and Public Relations of Yerevan Municipality:
"In relation to the news with the title "Spends night under an open sky" posted on your website on December 1, we deem it necessary to inform that resident of building #131 on Sarkavag Street, who has "declared a hunger strike for an uncertain period" Leyla Asatryan has not spent the first night of winter on the steps of the municipality. What's more, the day before that, Asatryan had been received by the mayor's advisor Grisha Saribekyan and had left the municipality after meeting and receiving clarifications. We also deem it necessary to mention that the municipality building and the surrounding area are under the supervision of not only the police, but also by round-the-clock cameras, and the recordings are kept. Only at midday on December 1 did the woman visit the municipality again, but she left after a short while.
