Russia to contribute to urbanization in Armenia

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan today received participants of the session of the CIS-member countries' inter-governmental council for cooperation in urbanization. The participants were headed by Minister for Regional Development of the Russian Federation Victor Basargin.

"I am certain that such meetings are very helpful. They contribute to not only exchange of experience and the development of new steps and directions for solving current issues, but also the deepening of cooperation and the strengthening of friendly ties between our countries, which is one of the most important steps," Prime Minister Sargsyan mentioned.

Victor Basargin expressed gratitude to the head of the Armenian government for organizing a session of the CIS-member countries' inter-governmental council for cooperation in urbanization and presented the session's agenda and the primary issues for discussion.

The participants of the session mentioned that the CIS-member countries have all the prerequisites for the development of construction.

The Minister for Regional Development of the Russian Federation said the developed agreement on cooperation in that direction assumes a new process of introducing norms for licensing, attestation and construction, which will contribute to the solution to issues related to structure.

Tigran Sargsyan attached importance to the implementation of joint urbanization projects and strategic actions for development. The Prime Minister mentioned that the government is focusing on the restoration of the housing fund that was built in the Soviet era and the assurance of seismic defense, reports the government's department of information and public relations.
