There were red flags and portraits of the leaders of global Communism on the central streets of Yerevan.

"Today is a happy day for all Armenians. With help from the Russians, we were able to organize the revolution, and that revolution brought us happiness," first secretary of the Sisyan regional committee of the Communist Party of Armenia Garnik Karapetyan said.

On November 29, 1920, the 11th Red Army of Soviet Russia backed by Armenian Communists entered Dilijan and declared the Second Soviet Republic of Armenia.

The leader of the Communist Party of Armenia says this day is not only a day to remember Soviet Armenia's achievements, but also to give political evaluations of the current state of the country.

"There are 1 million poverty-stricken people in Armenia. There has been an economic crime that is still going on. It doesn't matter because the people will take back power and will create a new Armenia with Russia," Ruben Tovmasyan declared.

The citizens of Yerevan following the festive march of the Communist Party had trouble remembering that day.

"I don't know about it. We were just passing by and heard that the Communists had organized something...it's a shame. We can't remember anything bad. Armenia was flourishing in that period," a citizen said.

ARF-D representative Kiro Manoyan passed by the parade and expressed his opinion to "A1+".

"The Communists are celebrating this day due to the flaws of liberty. We shouldn't forget that the declaration of Soviet rule in Armenia took place on December 2 and it was a necessity that saved us from the enemy," Kiro Manoyan explained.
