National Assembly MP, member of the Prosperous Armenia Party's faction Naira Zohrabyan has responded to the statement on the PAP that Levon Ter-Petrosyan made at the rally organized by the Armenian National Congress.

Zohrabyan finds that "that analysis has caused confusion in the political field".

We present the text below:

"Some presses have even decided to link the names of Gagik Tsarukyan's bodyguards with the tragedy of March 1, perhaps in order to try to make Tsarukyan understand something through their clients.

As a member of the PAP faction, I assess all that as simply immorality. I don't understand why Levon Ter-Petrosyan's, as he called it, simply political analysis has caused such commotion among political and non-political circles. Every person and politician has the right to express his views and approaches, including the First President. After all, we constantly talk about the need of forming a new political culture and tolerance, and in Europe we declare that we will hold the fairest elections and will respect all voters and their views. What is standing in our way?

As far as the attempts to speculate Gagik Tsarukyan's name in the context of the March 1 tragedy are concerned, I simply advise those speculators and their clients to refrain from taking immoral steps and to not play with fire. Gagik Tsarukyan says he and his partisans place importance on the revelation of the events of March 1.

On my part, I add that it is very important to understand why the events of March 1 took place in our country, what should have been done, who could have prevented those events and didn't. In general, it should be clear to everyone that we will not allow anyone to speculate our party.

By coincidence, the presses are spreading false information, to which we had responded two years ago. I deem it necessary to cite a part from that statement:

"Gagik Tsarukyan's press office declares that the released information is absolutely a lie and doesn't correspond to reality. Nobody from Gagik Tsarukyan's circle has anything to with the events of March 1. Those spreading false information are trying to distract the society's attention from the real people responsible for the tragic events of March 1 and are trying to discredit Gagik Tsarukyan's good name and honor through different kinds of false information."
