The Republican Party of Armenia discussed issues related to the party during a working meeting, which ended a short while ago. This is what RPA press speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told "A1+".

According to the NA rules and regulations-law, the issue of the new NA chairman will be discussed during the next sitting and until then, the party will discuss the nomination of a candidate for the post.

Eduard Sharmazanov also commented on the Armenian National Congress's intention to adopt a declaration demanding Serzh Sargsyan's impeachment.

"It's obvious. They don't have a voice in parliament and are trying to express their views within the framework of the law," he told "A1+".

"The subsequent parliamentary elections are coming up, and it's obvious that the extra-parliamentary opposition will want to make more emphases. This is nothing new. The extra-parliamentary opposition has been declaring impeachment and demanding snap elections for the past four years. Now it is clear that none of the extra-parliamentary opposition's predictions came true," Sharmazanov said.

He added that the coalition government led by Serzh Sargsyan is implementing structural reforms.

"The most important thing is to ensure the continuation of democratic reforms in our country, and the Republican Party of Armenia is definitely the pioneer for that," the RPA press speaker mentioned.
