Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited the Passports Division of the RA Police Passports and Visas Department located on Mashtots Avenue. With the accompaniment of RA Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, the head of government got acquainted with the conditions and the division's activities after renovation.

To provide more efficient and transparent servicefor citizens, the division has been replenished with an electronic terminal and technical equipment that accept payments of state fees, administrative fines and other payments. Previously, passport registration officers worked according to the territories. Now, citizens appealing to the division will be served at a more rapid pace.

The reforms will raise the quality of citizen service and will rule out corruption risks.

The division's renovation and technical rearmament were implemented through funding from the RA Police's extra-budgetary means. Overall, 59,642,000 drams had been invested for implementation of activities.

The passport divisions in Nor Nork and Ashtarak have been reconstructed, and the capital renovation of the passport service in Avan district will end in December 2011, reports the government's press service.
