Minister has a month
The organizing committee "In Defense of the NKR" finds that it is necessary to take advantage of the opportune moment and send a diplomatic message to leaders of UN-member countries by presenting the legal documents verifying the legitimacy of the NKR's formation, especially the NKR's process of declaring its independence from the Soviet Socialist Republic of Azerbaijan in accordance with the USSR legislation, as well as the norms and principles of international law.
This is stated in the open letter addressed to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan.
"The view that the Artsakh conflict is being discussed by the OSCE Minsk Group and that there is no need to overload the process of negotiations with arguments of a legal nature is groundless because Azerbaijan has flooded all international organizations with propaganda, neglecting the recommendations and positions of the Co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group," say members of the organizing committee.
By presenting the juridical essence of the Artsakh conflict to the international community, the Republic of Armenia will "at least indirectly become the first to recognize the compatibility of the legal process of the NKR's declaration of independence with the requirements of the norms and principles of international law".
The organizing committee has also stated that it is giving the FM a month to present Armenia's official conceptual approach on the directions for the Artsakh conflict settlement to UN-member countries through a diplomatic message.
"If the minister doesn't proceed with our proposal, we will reserve ourselves the right to take adequate steps to the best of our ability."
