Parliamentary factions presented their views on the 2012 state budget at the National Assembly today.

However, that didn't bother PAP member Vardan Bostanjyan's from calling on the attending deputies to give consent to the budget draft. Bostanjyan says the government is taking a daring step by proposing a 101 billion dram increase in tax collection.

"Yes, in terms of morality and psychology, we are not used to performing duties properly and giving the country money for that," PAP member Vardan Bostanjyan declared, adding that even though there will be a certain risk, the government has to collect the 101 billion drams.

Head of the "Country of Law" faction Heghine Bisharyan declared that her faction is in favor of voting for the draft budget. Citing the high indicators that the prime minister presented, Bisharyan mentioned that their faction has given a positive conclusion for the 2012 draft budget. Republican MP Hermine Naghdalyan declared that the draft of the 2012 state budget was truly purposeful.

The parliamentary opposition was sharply against adopting the draft of the state budget in this form. The ARF says it won't give a positive conclusion for this draft budget and will vote against it. "In our conclusion we will also express our political position. If the budget doesn't change Armenian citizens' living standards, there is no sense in talking about other things," ARF MP Artyusha Shahbazyan underlined.

On November 28, the National Assembly will most probably convene an extraordinary session at the government's request to discuss the package of amendments in the taxing legislation. The decision on holding an extraordinary session will be confirmed during the government's next session.
