Armenian, Romanian FMs discuss Karabakh peace process

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi, who has arrived in Yerevan for a working visit.

The two officials discussed a wide range of issues related to the cooperation in the political, economic, scientific-educational and scientific-technical fields and intensification of cultural ties.

The interlocutors attached importance to the conduct of consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, and emphasized cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary assemblies and the decentralized cooperation.

The parties discussed the processes taking place within the framework of Armenia-EU cooperation, particularly the Eastern Partnership. In this context, Teodor Baconschi hailed Armenia's steps towards expansion of cooperation with the EU.

The Foreign Ministers of the two countries exchanged views on international and regional issues, including the settlement of the Karabakh conflict. The parties stressed that the conflict should be solved exceptionally through peaceful negotiations on the basis of principles of international law and the proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
